Codenamed G11, the next generation of the German automaker’s flagship sedan is due in late 2015 or early the following year. While the exterior doesn’t depart dramatically from the look of the current model, the platform underpinning the 2016 7-Series will be heavily updated. This means lighter construction, more fuel-efficient engines and some never-before-seen EfficientDynamics technologies such as thermoelectric devices for its future cars.
