Isuzu Philippines Fortifies Talisay City’s Emergency Response Team with 22 Traviz Units

Isuzu Cebu kept their surprises going after their recent grand opening. To show support in boosting the local emergency response capabilities of the region, Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) officially turned over 22 brand-new Isuzu Traviz L units with Utility Van body to the City of Talisay, Cebu.

It happened during Mayor Gerald Anthony Gullas Jr.’s State of the City Address (SOCA), showcasing a commitment to public safety and disaster preparedness.

Present at the event were Vice Mayor Hon. Richard Choy Fernandez Aznar, members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, the 22 Punong Barangays, along with their respective councils. Also in attendance were department heads from Talisay City, representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (LDRRMO), national government agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and various People’s and Civil Society Organizations.

Per the usual ceremonies, the 22 new emergency vehicles were blessed before the turnover, after which, they were separately assigned to their respective barangays. These units will play a crucial role in the city’s “Aksyon Agad Rescue Program,” aimed at enhancing the rapid response capacity of the Community First Responders (CFR). With the Isuzu Traviz Ls, the CFRs will be able to report to the City Disaster Team and facilitate assistance to those in need in record time.

It is the perfect vehicle to assist the CFRs, thanks to its already robust features. It has a fuel-efficient 4JA1 engine and is renowned for its durability and reliability, making it a formidable ‘companion’ for the local government units (LGUs) during times of crisis. It also has a gross payload capacity of 1,660 kilograms and has more than enough space and capability for emergency equipment and personnel.

Just imagine seeing it in action! Carrying passengers to safety, transporting emergency personnel to where they should be during hurricane season, and delivering medicines to those in need.

Mr. Robert Carlos, IPC Assistant Division Head for Sales, even emphasized the vehicle’s popularity among LGUs, stating, “The Isuzu Traviz is widely chosen for its high payload capacity, dependable engine, and the strong aftersales support we offer. We are proud to be part of Talisay City’s initiatives to enhance public safety and emergency response.”

Overall, the City of Talisay’s investment in these vehicles demonstrates its proactive approach to disaster risk reduction and management. Indeed, they are now more prepared than ever to tackle emergencies, given that they have the right transportation that can carry both their constituents and the required goods and equipment during calamities. Of course, Isuzu is always proactive in its vision.

It isn’t just about creating some of the best cars in the market today, it is also about contributing to the creation of prosperous lifestyles for people around the world and in part, to its smaller units, like the regions within our country. May it be in the Metro or in the Visayas, Isuzu vehicles are always here to help, to inspire, and to provide an experience unlike any other.
