After Nissan announced that it will rollout a self-driving car by 2020, Volvo has upped the ante and said it plans to have its “Drive Me” program runnning with 100 autonomous cars by 2017. The Volvos will be distributed in Sweden to specially selected drivers whose commentary and diagnostic info will be collected by the manufacturer. Volvo isn’t undertaking this program alone. It’s working with the Swedish government to make traveling “safer, smoother, and less polluted,” as well as revolutionizing infrastructure.
