Shockingly Expensive!

rossa

Those million-dollar rides are cool and all, but if you really want to ball out, you should cop a vintage Ferrari. Nothing boosts your status like dropping $39 million for a 1957 250 Testarossa. Millionaire investor Eric Heerema just sold the prototype driven by Formula One champion Phil Hull to an anonymous buyer. The sale makes the Testarossa the most expensive car ever sold in Britain. The previous record was held by a Ferrari 250 GTO, also sold by Heerema.

Have you ever played a game of pinball and thought, “this is just like driving a Ford Mustang?” Ford sees plenty of commonality between pinball and pony cars. It plans to launch three Mustang-themed pinball machines at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show later this month. Each was designed and built by Chicago’s own Stern Pinball. The games were created to celebrate the Mustang’s 50th anniversary, and each one features classic models from that iconic lineage, right up to the brand-new 2015. They were also designed to evoke different types of racing, including rallying, drifting, road racing, and drag racing.

Paul Walker’s “Fast” Nissan Skyline GT-R for $1M

More than a million bucks (dollars, folks) is an extremely ridiculous price to pay for an ordinary Nissan Skyline GT-R R34, but this particular model is so special it might just be worth it. For one, it’s actually a movie car and one that was heavily used in the film it was on. More importantly, that film was “Fast & Furious 4,” and the man who drove this Skyline was none other than the late Paul Walker. So yeah, it’s a pretty special ride driven by one special dude. After Walker’s sudden and unexpected death late last year, the car now finds itself on the market and the attached price tag speaks not only to the uniqueness of this particular Skyline GT-R (fully souped up and all), but also to the man who once treated the ride like one of his own.

Canada is fast becoming the home to a lot of start-up manufacturers, and another one has gave birth to another sports car. This one is called the Felino CB7, a Quebec-born vehicle that Antoine Bessette, the man behind the project, describes as “purpose built for the track” that could also be street legal. The company took four years to develop and build the concept car using only the finest materials around. The Felino CB7 was unveiled at the 2014 Montreal International Auto Show, and from the looks of things, Felino built and developed a track racer that has the potential to be talked about by a lot of people for a long time.
