With the McLaren P1, Porsche 918 Spyder and Ferrari LaFerrari all debuting in the same year, the battle of the hypercars was invariably going to be filtered down to which could lap the Nurburgring the quickest. According to a McLaren insider the P1 lapped the Ring in around 6 min 30 sec. If true, that makes it the undisputed King of the Ring for now. Take note: over Ferrari.

#2 of 3 Lamborghini Venenos customized with green accents was recently delivered to a Miami customer, amounting to $4,090,050. The V12, 6.5-liter 750 horsepower hypercar, finished in green accents, was brought to his house by Lamborghini of St. Louis, where he left the massive check.

SCHUMI’S FAMILY NOT GIVING UP

The latest message from the former Ferrari and Mercedes driver’s family, including his wife, children, father and brother Ralf, said they are “deeply touched” by messages of support from around the world. His family said: “We all know he is a fighter and will not give up!” One of the messages of support in the past days has come from Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso, who said he is hoping “to hear some good news as soon as possible”. FIRST PONY SOLD!

The rights to the very first 2015 Ford Mustang GT was sold to the highest bidder at the Barrett-Jackson auctions taking place in Scottsdale, Arizona over the weekend. The final bid, made by Sam Pack, a car collector and Ford Motor Company [NYSE:F] dealer from Texas, was a respectable $300,000, the proceeds of which will go to benefit diabetes support group JDRF. The 2015 Mustang will initially be offered in three flavors: base V-6, mid-level turbo four and range-topping V-8, with the latter being the Mustang GT you see here. Peak output from its 5.0-liter V-8 will hover somewhere around 420 horsepower and 396 pound-feet of torque.

Wrestling star Dwayne Johnson posted this photo to Facebook recently of himself admiring a Ferrari 458 and shared his struggle with the world, writing in the caption “570 horse power of brilliant Italian engineering + 260lbs of Samoan Black Silverback = another fine ride I don’t fit in. #Ferrari458. Why I’m a pick up truck man.” There should be big-n-tall designers out there making man-sized stuff for the Dwayne Johnsons of the world. This is exactly why we don’t lift anymore.
