The racing debut of the Bentley Continental GT3 is inching closer as David Appleby Engineering has announced they will become the first customer racing team to take delivery of the model. The Continental GT3 has a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine that develops 600 bhp (447 kW). It is connected to a six-speed Xtrac sequential transmission which should ensure the 1,300 kg (2,866 lbs) race car is significantly faster than its road-going counterpart.

Hyundai has launched a new sub-brand called “N.” The new brand will consist of high-performance road cars, as well as the ambitious rally car project. As we know, Hyundai will be a part of the 2014 World Rally Championship and its resident rally car, the i20 WRC, will be the first product built under this new N brand. Wondering where the letter “N” came from? Hyundai is based in Namyang, Korea, and that is where the “N” comes from — easy enough.

Dubuc Super Light Car has come out with a kit car that offers fans of performance driving an affordable and lightweight sports model. The kit car is called the Tomahawk and it’s scheduled to make a debut at the 2014 Montreal Auto Show in mid-January. The basic package, which consists of a complete rustproof body and frame, costs $19,995 and requires only the installation of mechanical components. This enables a completed car to be built in around 250 hours for a skilled individual, which Dubuc boasts is significantly faster than for most other kit cars on the market. The total budget, using parts sourced from a retired automobile (ideally a C4 Chevrolet Corvette), could be as low as $30,000.

Florida company J&S Worldwide Holdings has announced that, following the “buzz” surrounding the Mercedes-Benz Vision Gran Turismo, it plans to build two for the Middle East, two for Europe and one for America. It’ll use the Merc SLS AMG GT edition as the base car, and will sculpt that really rather evil looking body entirely from carbon fibre, which it claims will reduce the SLS’s kerbweight by some 90kg (198lbs). The wheels will be custom forged by ADV, it’ll get a custom chrome paint job, a retractable rear spoiler, custom exhaust, and an interior modified to each customer’s request.
