RECALL ALERT

General Motors Co. is recalling 1,658 Chevrolet Sonic cars, as potentially faulty strap welds could cause the fuel tank to separate from the car. The recall of 2013 and 2014 model-year cars affects U.S. and Canada, most of which are still on dealer lots. According to GM, no accidents, fires or injuries related to the issue have been reported.

Philippines from the view of an outsider

“It took me a while to get used to seeing traffic wardens with shotguns. And while I was there, I witnessed this scene: two armoured-truck drivers having an argument by their vehicle. It ended with one of them kicking the truck, then they drove off.” — from Sean Ellis, director of “Metro Manila,” Britain’s nominee as best foreign language film for the Oscars.

LOOK MA, NO TOUCH!

The next time you see someone waving his hands up and down while on the road, don’t assume he’s having a dance-off inside his car. Google has recently filed patents for gesture-based controls in-car controls. This technology would allow the driver to control a variety of his vehicle’s features with certain movements. This includes raising or lowering the temperature, adjusting the drivers seat positioning and moving up or down the side windows.
