Hyundai’s HARI Foundation, global partners provide innovative water source to Tanay City

March 22, 2017, Tanay Municipal Hall—Some 200 students of Rawang Elementary School of Tanay City count among the first beneficiaries of the Rain Water Harvesting System, a filtration method that is capable of producing and storing potable water from rain gathered in roof gutters.

Said system is an innovation of Prof. Han Moo Young of the Engineering College of Seoul National University.

Isuzu Philippines furthers road safety advocacy, holds truck display in Isabela

STRENGTHENING its presence in growth areas outside of the National Capital Region, Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) recently conducted major activities in Isabela.

From March 21 to 22, 2017 IPC mounted the latest installment of the Isuzu Truck Training series at the BMD Seed Farm in Aurora, Isabela. The activity, which formed part of IPC’s consistent thrust in promoting road safety through proper driver education, was attended by representatives of companies in the Isabela and Cagayan areas operating fleets of heavy-duty Isuzu trucks.

MMDA implements EDSA/Shaw Boulevard ban on light trucks

The MMDA has started implementing a more comprehensive truck ban since March 15, barely a week ago. Intended to be just a trial run, it will last until June 15 and will cover all light trucks, or those with gross capacity weight of 4,500 kilos and below. Along with EDSA, also covered by the new ban is the entire length of Shaw Boulevard, thus making it very hard for light trucks to move around the metro from 6 to 10 in the morning, and from 5 to 10 in the evening. This is to ease the already congested rush hour traffic during those periods.

Volkswagen Philippines turns over Touran MPVs to Froehlich Tours

Volkswagen Philippines, exclusive importer and distributor of the country’s number one-selling European car brand, recently turned over Touran multi-purpose vehicles to innovative tour, transport and P2P bus services provider Froehlich Tours during a ceremonial handover.


The turnover marks the beginning of a partnership between two dynamic, rapidly rising transport-related companies—Volkswagen Philippines, which, in just three years of operations has become among the most awarded and top-selling European car brands, and Froehlich Tours, which in just over four years of operations has grown from one travel agency with seven tourist coaches in Don Bosco, Paranaque City, to a fleet of nearly 400 tourist coaches, buses, premium vans and sedans.
