Saudi Arabia government is creating new laws to put a stop to an increasing number of dangerous drifting sessions on public roads. Arab News is reporting that under the new laws first-time drifters will get their vehicles confiscated for a month and will also have to pay a 10,000 SAR (about 2,600 USD) fine. Second-timers will lose their car for three months and will pay double the fine. In addition, they could also end up in jail for a period between 6 to 12 months. Those who care caught drifting for the third time will not only be incarcerated for a longer period of time but their vehicles will be impounded for 1 to 5 years and will have to pay a 40,000 SAR (10,600 USD) fine. Interestingly, those found on the passenger seat as well as spectators will be considered accomplices and will have to pay a 1,500 SAR fine and/or get their vehicle confiscated for a minimum of 15 days. TOYS FOR THE BIG BOYS

image

Whether they arrived chewed, chipped or chopped, toy cars were welcomed into the body shops of Audi this past holiday season. Coming to our attention via the advertising trend site Contagious.com, Audi Toy Service was a promotion that ran from 19-23 December in Spain among Audi’s dealerships, whereby toy cars, regardless of type or brand, could be brought in and repaired, free of charge. Owners pre-registered on a microsite to bring their toys into one of several Audi dealerships around Spain, where toy-repair experts would match paint, replace missing wheels, add custom decals, repair and grease slot-car parts, fix broken steering racks and blast every millimetre of accumulated dust.

LEAKED: 2015 Subaru WRX STI images

The first allegedly official images of the 2015 Subaru WRX STI have been published online, ahead of a confirmed NAIAS debut later this month. Subaru introduced the 2015 WRX back in November at the Los Angeles Auto Show and now we catch a first glimpse at the hotter STI variant which adopts a more aggressive body kit painted in Subaru’s traditional World Rally Blue matched with golden alloy wheels. Apparently this finish will be reserved initially for a first edition which is likely to come with other enhancements. While the aforementioned WRX makes use of a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter boxer rated at 268 bhp (200 kW) and 258 lb-ft (349 Nm), the STI is rumored to get a larger 2.5-liter turbocharged four-banger with 300 bhp (224 kW) and 290 lb-ft (393 Nm).
